Tanner Foust wraps up select season in LOORRS
Rockstar Energy Drink Driver ends year with Top 10 result in Challenge Cup

LAKE ELSINORE, California (October 26, 2015) — Rockstar Energy Drink driver Tanner Foust enjoyed a learning year in short-course off-road truck racing, wrapping up a four-race select season this weekend in the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Pro 2 at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park.

“Racing a few events over the past two years I have developed a real respect for the gladiators behind the wheel of these trucks,” said Foust. “There is an incredible amount to learn when you’re wrestling an 800-horsepower truck over jumps and through traffic. Every lap is an education.”

Foust raced a Pro 2 Unlimited truck formerly campaigned by veteran off-roader Rob MacCachren, whose team handled vehicle preparation and operation. In Sunday’s Challenge Cup, Foust scored a solid 10th of 21 drivers in the Pro 2 versus Pro 4 competition.

In the season-ender a day earlier, the multi-time Global Rallycross and Formula Drift champion qualified within a second of the top position and put down some strong laps during the race. But a Lap 13 mis-step in Turn 3 sent his truck tumbling. The driver was unharmed but unable to continue after the incident and scored an 11th place result.

It was Foust’s second weekend of year in the Rockstar Energy Drink Pro 2. In March he opened the season with a pair of Top 10 results. His appearance in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series this year was part of a packed 2015 schedule that also saw him make select appearances in Formula Drift and the FIA World Rallycross Championship — all while charging for the Global Rallycross Championship title.

In addition to the Rockstar Energy Drink Pro 2, Foust campaigns the 900 horsepower Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Passat in Formula Drift, the 600 horsepower Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo in World RX, and is currently second in the Global Rallycross standings in the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle.

“I feel very fortunate to have had a season racing in four different series around the world and it’s crazy to look back on my year and realize I’ve driven all of these great machines,” said Foust. “For somebody who loves to drive, it’s been an incredible privilege to have a partnership with a company that’s up for throwing me in anything with four wheels: Thanks, Rockstar!”

The driver wraps up his competition season next week with the final race in the 2015 Global Rallycross season. He is currently second in the points standings, behind Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross teammate Scott Speed. The two have such a lead on the competition that they are the only drivers remaining in title contention heading into the final championship round.
